Diminishing Deductible
A diminishing deductible is sometimes called a disappearing or vanishing deductible. It is additional coverage that rewards you for being a safe driver. Your policy’s deductible amount reduces by a certain amount if you maintain a clean driving record.
A vanishing deductible for car insurance refers to a program in which your car insurance deductible will decrease each year you’ve been accident-free. For example, if you have a $500 deductible and have been accident-free for five years, your deductible would drop to $0 if you participate in this program. Drivers under Diminishing Deductible can receive up to a maximum of $500 credit.
